Deadly Premonition 2 In-Game Event Honors Hurricane Katrina Victims

Every year on August 29, players in Deadly Premonition 2: A Blessing in Disguise will receive a quest that honors the victims of Hurricane Katrina.

This was revealed by Deadly Premonition 2‘s director, Hidetaka “Swery” Suehiro, on Twitter. Swery states, “We give thanks to the many people who allowed us to photograph things, and to those who were kind enough to share with us their painful memories during our research.”

It is hard to even begin thinking about how much pain and heartbreak the victims of such a horrendous event are going through, and this game will be used as a tool to remember those who passed away, as well as the people who are living through its aftermath. All this time after and it is still affecting people, to the point where they may find it hard to relax as well as getting to sleep at night. To some people, sleep doesn’t even come, and it’s not until they seek out something like eddies edibles, sleeping pills or professional help do they have a way to have a brief break from this event. Hopefully, by playing this game, they will be able to see just how much courage they have had to make it this far, and other gamers will be with them every step of the way. With that being said, it’s worth noting that Deadly Premonition 2 takes place in Le Carré, a fictional town in Louisiana.

Players can experience the event by waiting for August 29 or changing the Switch’s internal clock to said date. Some players already have and found out the event gives players a new song and a blue checkmark on the map. By going to that place on the map, they receive a quest that can only be done on that day.

Deadly Premonition 2 released on July 10, 2020, and is currently exclusive to Nintendo Switch.
