When most people think of San Diego Comic Con, they think of the big Marvel and DC movie announcements or comic book news. Most people probably don’t expect a statement from Mattel, but that is exactly what we got. On July 18, 2018, they announced they will be partnering with Nintendo to launch a line of Mario Kart Hot Wheels die-cast vehicles next summer.
They showed off eight vehicles so far, on their Instagram post, which features Mario, Luigi, Peach, Toad, Yoshi, Bowser, Wario, and Rosalina. They will retail for $4.99 each and be available in June 2019.
