In a surprising update earlier today, Nintendo Switch Online has brought in a feature that people have been wanting for years and that is missions/ achievements. Players will now be able to complete cycling missions to gain some platinum rewards to be used on some new digital gifts.
The missions given seem to require at least the basic tier of NSO in order to complete some of the various challenges. Some of these challenges include:
- Play a game that supports online play
- Play Super Mario Bros. on the NES
- Back up save data
- and more…
Completing such missions gives you 20+ platinum points to be used on some digital content. Adding to Nintendo’s digital rewards, is customization options for your own Nintendo Switch profile such as new profile icons, backgrounds, and frames. Since these points are considered platinum points, they will also be able to be redeemed for My Nintendo digital and physical rewards on the My Nintendo store.
