Coming out later today, November 6, 2019, you will be able to play as one of the King of Fighters himself, Terry Bogard. Mr. Sakurai and his amazing team have brought some of the best and coolest aspects of the Fatal Fury and King of Fighters series to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate in the newest part of the Fighter Pass.
In this newest DLC showcase, Sakurai really showed a lot of love for SNK with Terry’s moveset, the stage, cameos, Mii costumes and even music. Terry has moves from a plethora of his games. Like Ken and Ryu, he also comes with button input combos, allowing for even stronger attacks. Terry even has Super Special Moves, where when his damage is over 100% he has access to his extra powerful moves. They really tried their best to include as much of a call back to the Neo Geo era and on when it comes to his playstyle.
His new stage, the King of Fighters Stadium, is set differently from most Smash stages in the sense where there are walls that break when your opponent. Along with that, there is a plethora of other characters from SNK and Neo Geo that visit in the background to cheer you on. The stage also has a song list of 50 songs and remixes from the Fatal Fury, The King of Fighters, and other SNK series. The Spirit challenges for Terry Bogard were also added.
Also shown off is the 6.0.0 version of SSBU which provided a lot of custom settings for battle arenas. Separate DLC Mii costumes (Sold separately at $.75/ea) representing different SNK games were also announced. Simon, Incineroar, and Chrom Amiibos were shown off, releasing on November 15.
Terry Bogard, the 6.0.0 update, the Spirit Challenges, will be available later today. Remember, you must have the Fighter Pass (Sold Separately) to get Terry Bogard, or you can purchase him separately on the eShop.
