Nintendo has made a surprising announcement that the NES is returning to store shelves, only this time in the form of a new console. This new console is the NES Classic Edition, which will be available later this year on November 11. This console has its own power supply, HDMI port and cable, an NES Classic Controller, and comes loaded with thirty NES games. Which games are included you may ask? Well here is the full list:
- Balloon Fight™
- BUBBLE BOBBLE
- Castlevania™
- Castlevania II: Simon’s Quest™
- Donkey Kong™
- Donkey Kong Jr. ™
- DOUBLE DRAGON II: THE REVENGE
- Dr. Mario™
- Excitebike™
- FINAL FANTASY®
- Galaga™
- GHOSTS’N GOBLINS®
- GRADIUS™
- Ice Climber™
- Kid Icarus™
- Kirby’s Adventure™
- Mario Bros. ™
- MEGA MAN® 2
- Metroid™
- NINJA GAIDEN
- PAC-MAN™
- Punch-Out!! ™ Featuring Mr. Dream
- StarTropics™
- SUPER C™
- Super Mario Bros.™
- Super Mario Bros. ™ 2
- Super Mario Bros. ™ 3
- TECMO BOWL
- The Legend of Zelda™
- Zelda II: The Adventure of Link™
There are even some multiplayer games included in this list. You can even purchase additional controllers for $9.99 and relive these classics with a friend. It appears this is more of the plug-and-play type of console, and likely will not be able to play games, not on this list. However, the included games are pretty solid if I must say so myself. You may notice some highly difficult games like Ninja Gaiden, Kid Icarus, and GHOSTS’N GOBLINS, among a few others. Do not worry, though, as this console also allows players to trigger save states, so you can continue from where you left off.
