Has Olympic-fevor hit the Nintendo Download, or are we just in a drought?
It’s been a while since I’ve done this, as Greg has taken over Nintendo Download duties for the majority of this year. But since he’s out of town, I stepped in to make sure you still know the new releases and featured discounts for this week. So, let’s get right into it, because this week is… Actually, I’m still trying to figure out a good word for this week’s Nintendo Download. I’ll let you see for yourself…
Nintendo, along with the rest of the world, has apparently caught Olympic-fever, as they’ve brought four games to Wii U this week that have to do with sports, summer, or water. Tadpole Treble, Wave Race 64, Mario Sports Mix, and Surfing’ Sam – Attack of the Aqualites are all on Wii U today. Yes, I know I am stretching this, but I think they are too. So, maybe it wasn’t their intentions to connect these to the Olympics. Well, if that’s the case, I think we are just in a gaming drought. But hey, 360 Breakout is also available!
Over on the 3DS, the drought continues. Sure, Mega Man X is great, but what if you already own it on your Wii or Wii U? Fortunately, Nintendo has offered a discou… Wait, I’m getting word they have not offered a discount for previously purchased Virtual Console games. It looks like you’re going to have to pay another $7.99 for it if you want to play it on the go. If you’re into saving money, though, you can get an interesting turn-based RPG called Ambition of the Slimes or you can download a free demo of Disney Art Academy.
I wish there were more to tell you, but that’s it for the new releases. Sure, there are some decent discounts, though, like the ones for Nano Assault Neo, Trine, Etrian Odyssey, Phoenix Wright, and more. So, as always, you can check out the full list of all new releases, prices, discounts, and more below. Be sure to share your thoughts on this week’s downloads, and let us know if you plan on downloading any of them.
