Nintendo just dropped an out-of-nowhere post on the Mario Kart Tour account on X/Twitter that states they will be shutting down services for the mobile phone game after 11:00pm PT on September 29, 2026.
They also stated, on their Q&A page, “In conjunction with the end of service, we have ended the sale of rubies starting today, 11:00 p.m. Pacific on July 7, 2026. Note that rubies can be used in the Spotlight Shop, Mii Racing Suit Shop, and Coin Rush until service ends.”
And regarding the Gold Pass, “We stopped all automatic subscription renewals and new subscriptions to the Mario Kart Tour Gold Pass during the maintenance that was held at 11:00 p.m. PT on July 7, 2026, in conjunction with the game’s end of service at 11:00 p.m. PT on September 29, 2026.”
As of right now, Nintendo has not shared any plans on keeping the game around in an offline version or moving the experience to another game or app.
