While Animal Crossing has been quite popular almost since the original Animal Forest game on N64 in Japan, the most loved versions have been on Nintendo’s handheld consoles. So in 2017, Nintendo wanted to capitalize on an even bigger user base, bringing the beloved cozy sim to mobile devices in Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp.
Rather than the role you typically play as a participant in the world, Pocket Camp makes you the camp manager, as you are told by Isabelle. So your goal is to build creative campsites, collect furniture and other items, and celebrate special events with over 100 animal friends.
While the game had a high number of downloads initially, even hitting a large spike in 2020 during the height of Animal Crossing: New Horizons for Nintendo Switch, its popularity has decreased over the last couple of years. The last update for the game came one month ago, when they updated it with summer items and events, increased the maximum animal friendship level, added a new Isles of Style to Gulliver’s Ship, and added adjustments to the on-screen display and design elements.
This might be the last update, however, because Nintendo just announced services will be ending soon.
The online service for Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp will end on Nov. 28, 2024 at 7:00 AM PT. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to everyone who has supported the title since service began. We will continue distributing in-game events and adding items until the service ends.

If you have any Leaf Tickets in the game, Nintendo has stated, “Leaf Ticket sales will cease on November 26th, 2024 at 10:00 PM (PST). You will be able to redeem Leaf Tickets until end of the service on November 28th, 2024 at 7:00 AM (PST).”
Pocket Camp also had a subscription service called Pocket Camp Club, which will also end on November 29. If you want to gain access to the subscription service, you must do so before October 28, at which time there is scheduled maintenance that will remove the subscription option and the automatic renewal of said subscription.
In some more unfortunate news, Nintendo stated, “If your membership is set to end after the maintenance period listed above, you will not be refunded even if you cancel membership on your own.” To compensate you, though, you will receive an in-game badge that signifies the plan you were once a member of. This badge also allows you to continue playing the game with those benefits until service ends on November 29, even if your subscription was set to end between October 28 and November 29. (See image below for more details).
・The Pocket Camp Journal and monthly benefits (i.e. Leaf Tickets and fortune cookies) are excluded.

・A Free Trial membership of the Happy Helper Plan will not generate a badge.
If you played Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp, are you going to miss it? We’d also love to hear some of your favorite memories from playing the game.
