The mobile game starring everyone’s favorite doctor will be ending service on October 31.
The Dr. Mario World Twitter account tweeted out a notice that the online-only mobile game will essentially be no more on October 31 at 11 p.m. PDT (November 1 at 2 a.m. EDT).
Nintendo states: “Thank you for playing the Dr. Mario World game. The Dr. Mario World game’s service will end on Nov. 1, 2021 (Mon). We would like to extend our sincere thanks to everyone who has played the game since it began service on July 10, 2019. Service end date and time: Nov. 1, 2021 (Mon) at 6 a.m. (UTC). Furthermore, diamonds will no longer be available for purchase from July 28, 2021 (Wed).”
Nintendo goes on to say that when booting up Dr. Mario World after the game’s service has ended, the player will be greeted with a end-of-service notification. While it will be impossible to play the game, the app will still allow you to look back at your play history in Dr. Mario World Memories as a webpage.
Dr. Mario World released on July 10, 2019 and was developed by Nintendo EPD in collaboration with Line Corporation and NHN Entertainment. It was the sixth mobile app released from Nintendo and will be the second Nintendo mobile app to shutdown after Miitomo in 2018.
