Fans Create Custom Patch for Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE

This topic isn’t exactly new to gaming; It’s clear that some people don’t like some of the localization changes made to games. This comes up again with Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE. Fans discovered some of the big changes to the game. Some costume changes, an omitted dungeon and age and dialogue changes. Personally, this doesn’t bother me and I don’t see it as censorship. Regional differences and legal reasons are often a reason for these changes and I completely understand the reason for them. So on to the patch that these fans made. This is what it fixes.

  • Reverted costumes back to Bikinis, also changing the menu icons back and their original names and descriptions.
  • Completely redid Chapter 2 and a few other small files to return references to Gravure Modelling, this also uses the original voice files.
  • Fixed any map changes relating to pictures in dungeons that were changed.
  • Swapped the English files out for Japanese versions for retranslated files.
  • Healing points no longer come in envelopes.
  • Changed Profiles to reflect the character’s real ages and change back references to Gravure Modeling.
  • Reverted any censored prerendered Cutscene files.

While I don’t condone modification of your game files on your Wii U and 3DS. This is still pretty interesting and amazing to see fans as dedicated as these modifying the game to play how they want. We’re not going to include the link to the modification process, but the link to it is in Shacknew’s article. Check out our review of Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE in the future!
