Nintendo has announced they are discontinuing their My Nintendo Gold Points program at 9:30pm PDT on March 24, 2025. You can, however, continue to earn Platinum Points, as that program is not going anywhere.
Here are the details that were sent to My Nintendo members on February 21, 2025, about what will happen beginning March 24:
- Gold Points will no longer be earned for digital purchases on Nintendo eShop as of 9:30 pm PT;
- Gold Points will no longer be earned on physical games releasing after 3/24/2025 (Gold Points may still be earned for physical games that released on or before 3/24/2025 by registering eligible games within one year from the original release date of the game);
- Earned Gold Points will continue to be valid and redeemable for 12 months after they are issued.*
Nintendo also noted: “Please note that there are no changes to how you redeem the Gold Points you already earned.”
