Is the original No More Heroes making its way to Switch? This is likely happening if a registered rating in Taiwan is to be believed.
A rating for No More Heroes on Switch has been registered by the Taiwan Digital Game Rating Committee. Despite being in Taiwanese, translation not only reveals a summary of the premise of No More Heroes on Wii, but also a link the Japanese website of said Wii game.
This falls in line with a July 2019 Dengeki PlayStation interview regarding the PS4 port of the Switch spin-off Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes with president & CEO of Grasshopper Manufacturer and No More Heroes’ creator, Goichi “Suda51” Suda. When asked if there were plans to make previous entries available on modern platforms, Suda stated that he was in talks with the IP holder, Marvelous Games, to make that happen. This wouldn’t be the first time the game re-released as it received an enhanced port on PS3 and Xbox 360 in 2010.
The original No More Heroes was published by Ubisoft in North America and launched on Wii in December 2007 to great reviews ranging in the 80s upon release. In 2010, it received a re-release and a sequel, No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle. The series would be dormant until 2019’s Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes on Nintendo Switch. A new mainline game, No More Heroes 3 was announced as a Nintendo Switch exclusive at E3 2019. It is currently slated for a 2020 release.
