According to a recent Sega financial report, the company plans on releasing the Nintendo Switch exclusive JRPG, Shin Megami Tensei V, around the January to March 2021 period. The game appears in a list of major titles that are to be launched in and after the July to September 2020 quarter, but before fiscal year ending Mar 2021.
Shin Megami Tensei V will be the first game from the developer, Atlus to receive a simultaneous worldwide launch as revealed in the latest Nintendo Direct Mini Partner Showcase. While the pandemic may have caused delays to the industry, it seems Sega is determined to release the next installment in the long-running JRPG franchise sometime in the first half of 2021.
Next year looks to be a good year for Atlus and SMT fans as western markets will also receive the HD remaster of Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne in spring 2021.
