Earlier today Nintendo announced a new title set 100 years before The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. The games, made by KOEI Tecmo Games, is done in their Warriors‘ beat-em-up gameplay style, and shows what takes place in the Kingdom of Hyrule that sets up the events of Breath of the Wild.
As of right now, they showed gameplay of Link, Zelda, and the four champions as they set out to fight armies of Ganons minions, Ancient Guardians, and Yiga clan members. This will show the story of Link in the King Rhoam Bosphoramus Hyrule’s army as they fight back against the threat that is Calamity Ganon.
It is a great way to see how the story unfolds as the events that happen prior to Links 100 year slumber, since they weren’t greatly touched upon in detail in the main game. It will be fantastic to live those flashback cut-scenes and really see everything that went down.
Personally, I wonder if they may end up making the previous Hyrule Warriors game canon within the Zelda timeline. Here’s to looking forward to another great game from the Zelda and Warriors franchise!
