The next generation of the long running RPG franchise finally has release date, along with more gameplay.
Pokémon Scarlet & Violet were revealed back in February as the beginning of ninth generation. We now have a release date of November 18. It’s worth noting that the current eighth generation began (like past games) in November 2019 with the release of Pokémon. The trailer not only gave a release date, but more gameplay as well.
We got a look at the new Legendary Pokémon appearing in these titles, Koraidon and Miraidon. As tradition dictates, they appear on each cover of the retail game and the title logos are embellished with foil stamp-like designs that use these Legendary Pokémon as motifs. Three new Pokémon were revealed: the electric-type “Pawmi”, the normal-type hog “Lechonk”, and the grass-type “Smoliv”. Also, for the first time in series history, one of two different professors will appear in the game depending on which version players choose. In Scarlet, players will meet Professor Sada, and in Violet, players will meet Professor Turo. Each professor is carrying out research into lore passed down in the region.
More info for the game can be found here.
Pokémon Scarlet & Violet will release for Nintendo Switch on November 18, 2022.
Dave’s first Nintendo platform was the GameCube when he was age 7; however, he was introduced to Nintendo through Duck Hunt on NES.
