On August 16, 2020, an Amazon UK listing for The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword for Nintendo Switch appeared before disappearing today.
Before it disappeared, the listing indicated that one could pre-order Skyward Sword for Nintendo Switch for 69.99 Pound Sterling (or roughly 92 U.S. dollars). A screenshot of the listing can be found below.
Nintendo has yet to confirm a port of Skyward Sword on Nintendo Switch. It is unknown what the pulling of the listing means. The possibility of a 35th anniversary Zelda celebration was also in the news recently.
This is not the first time the idea of Skyward Sword on Switch has been in the news. In a 2019 interview with Gameinformer, Legend of Zelda producer Eiji Aonuma commented on the possibility of remaking the game, but said it would be difficult and “close to impossible” because of the game’s foundation being built on motion controls.
The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword released on the Wii in 2011. It was then re-released digitally on the Wii U eshop as part of the Wii catalog for Virtual Console in 2016.
