If you have ever been playing Super Smash Bros. and thought to yourself, “You know what this needs? Virtual Reality,” you’re in luck. Nintendo just announced they are bringing Labo VR Kit support to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
If you have the Toy-Con VR Goggles, you can now use them to play Smash in a brand new way. They will be compatible with limited, timed, and offline battles via the Games & More menu. Once selected, you can look around during CPU battles or one-player battles against the CPU. Both types of multiplayer are not supported, though. Also, you will not be able to play all the stages in VR, but Nintendo does mention there are “dozens of stages supported.”
VR functionality comes with the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate free 3.1 update, which is available now on Nintendo Switch. The update also includes additional amiibo support, including sending them on journeys and using them in Battle Arenas.
What do you think of this news? Are you excited to try Smash in VR or use your amiibo more? Let us know in the comments below.
