The “new school role-playing game” from former Shin Megami Tensei developers will be heading to western shores next year.
Monark was recently announced for a release date in Japan & Asia of October 14, 2021. NIS America has confirmed that Monark will arrive in the west in early 2022.
Here is an official description of the game:
“Could you face yourself and the threats around you to save the ones you love? Shin Mikado Academy is engulfed in a madness-inducing Mist, and only you can save everyone inside. Develop your Ego to break the pacts set by the Pactbearers and remove the corrupting Mist.”
The game looks to be a turn-based RPG of sorts which isn’t surprising given the pedigree of the developers. Lancarse Ltd., is the studio behind the development.
Monark is set to release on Switch and other platforms in the west early next year.
Dave’s first Nintendo platform was the GameCube when he was age 7; however, he was introduced to Nintendo through Duck Hunt on NES.
