The sequel to the 2017 3DS RPG, Monster Hunter Stories, now has a new trailer and a release date of July 9, 2021; however, it is not arriving alone.
While the first game was strictly single-player, It was revealed that this sequel will include co-op multiplayer quests.
The game will also arrive with its own amiibo on the same day, worldwide (unlike the first game’s amiibo). The three amiibo for the game will be of Ena, Razewing Ratha, and Tsukino. Each one will unlock a different set of armor.
There will also be a deluxe edition that will include the base game, special outfits for the protagonist, Ena, and palico, along with stickers. If the player has save data for Monster Hunter Rise, they will receive a bonus in-game outfit for Ena based on the Kamura village featured in Rise.
Monster Hunter Stories 2 official website has also been updated with character info and screenshots.
The game will release on July 9. 2021, for Nintendo Switch.
