There has been talk about a Nintendo Direct presentation for several months. The last one we had was on September 4, 2019. Many expected one in January and also February. Now, here we are almost at the end of March with a surprise drop of a Nintendo Direct Mini with nearly 29 minutes of Nintendo Switch games coming this year (that is if the COVID-19 virus doesn’t delay anything).
So what made this a miniature version of a full-on Direct? It definitely does not mean a lack of announcements. Rather, it seems like mini means no “big” brand new first-party game announcements. Instead, we got updates, confirmed rumors, third-party games, and more defined launch dates/windows for titles previously announced in 2020. However, there were quite a few announcements in today’s Direct Mini.
