Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is here! Well, almost. The wait is nearly over, as you can pick it up tomorrow at your favorite retail shop, or on the Nintendo Switch eShop. Other than that, there’s not much else that is noteworthy in this week’s release. But let’s still see what is in store for us.
In Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, you can race as a variety of different characters. This game also includes the largest number of race tracks in series history. The Wii U version was missing a solid battle mode, but not to fear this time, as it is now included. Also releasing on the Switch eShop are Puyo Puyo Tetris, TumbleSeed (available 5/2), ACA NEOGEO OVER TOP, and KAMIKO.
The 3DS side is very straight forward this week. The only new items are a pair of demos. If you were on the fence about purchasing either of these titles, then be sure to check out the demo versions of Parascientific Escape Cruise in the Distant Seas and Blasting Agent Ultimate Edition.
The Wii U side does not look much better. Releasing on the Wii U eShop are a pair of indie games. In case you wanted a party game along the lines of Cards Against Humanity, you can download Use Your Words. The main screenshot shows this sample scenario: “Make up a five-word phrase that would ruin Mother’s Day.” Also available is Absolutely Unstoppable MineRun.
