Chris Taylor has been diagnosed with terminal cancer. His one single wish was a chance to play Super Smash Bros. Ultimate since doctors determined he may not make it to the release date. He has been bed-ridden, so if there was any chance of his wish being granted, Nintendo would have to bring the game to him.
That is exactly what happened. On Twitter, Chris got the attention of major Nintendo YouTubers and streamers to help get in contact with Nintendo. An arrangement was set and two Nintendo reps showed up with a Switch console containing the E3 demo of the game. He was able to play the game with a local friend, his brother, and mother today, Friday, September 21. This was all kept confidential, as there were major concerns at stake if this was announced earlier this week. It is incredibly satisfying to see Nintendo do this for a fan!
