Earlier today Nintendo announced a small revision of their main Nintendo Switch console. Not to be confused with the Nintendo Switch Lite that was announced the other week, but the main standard console.
Following the pattern of the Lite, this new Switch contains the newly updated chipset that allows for an extended battery life. The new model’s battery life will last between 4.5 and 9 hours, compared to the previous battery life of between 2.5 and 6.5 hours, depending on the game. Other than that, there isn’t any other difference between it and the current model. It will also be releasing in the same launch Joy-Con sets of Red/Blue and Grey. It will be replacing the original console in August and cost the same MSRP of $300.
Along with that, two new Joy-Con color sets were also announced. Dark Blue/ Neon Yellow and Neon Purple/ Neon Orange will also be available. Personally I like the Purple/ Orange combo because it reminds me of Halloween or a bit of Wario and Waluigi. They will be releasing on October 14th for $79.99.
