Get ready, as the next Pokémon games are coming to Nintendo Switch on November 15, 2019. This morning, the Pokémon Direct video showed off more details on the upcoming Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield games.
The Galar region is shaping up to be an amazing 3D space to catch Pokémon and battle with others both within the game and with friends. Controlling the camera will help you explore in new ways. Not only did they show off new Pokémon like Wooloo, Gossifleur, Drednaw, and Corviknight, but we also got to see the new Dynamax feature that gives your Pokémon a massive boost in size and power. You can also participate in Max Raid Battles in the Wild Area to capture Dynamaxed wild Pokémon with three of your local or online friends.
There are many new people to meet in Sword and Shield. The Galar Champion is Leon, and his younger brother, Hop, is one of your rivals. Professor Magolia specializes in Dynamax, and her granddaughter Sonia is her assistant. As you progress through each of the Pokémon gyms, you must learn how to use Dynamax well to defeat gym leaders like the grass-type expert, Milo.
The legendaries were also shown off in this Direct. Zacian (Sword) and Zamazenta (Shield) look to be lion-like Pokémon, although we still do not know much about them.
Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield will be available globally on November 15 on their own but also in a double-pack.
