The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD, an HD remake of the 2006 Nintendo Wii game coming to Nintendo Wii U this year, was announced in a November Nintendo Direct alongside a new Wolf Link and Midna amiibo. Today, we may know what that amiibo will unlock in the game, thanks to a supposed leak from Amazon France.
As first reported by Nintendo Insider, Amazon France updated its listing for Twilight Princess HD to include details on amiibo functionality and other new gameplay features. Existing Zelda amiibo, including Link, Toon Link, Zelda and Sheik, will replenish player’s hearts and arrows when placed on the Wii U GamePad. Meanwhile, the Wolf Link amiibo has an even greater benefit: an all-new dungeon will be unlocked in the game, called “The Cave of Twilight.”
Other features new to Twilight Princess HD include a Hero Mode – presumably a New Game Plus-style mode – and inventory management on the GamePad, similar to the GamePad’s function in The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD, the first Wii U Zelda game and remake of the classic GameCube title.
Of course, until we hear directly from Nintendo, these statements should be considered nothing more than rumors. When Nintendo does finally reveal the amiibo functionality in Twilight Princess HD, as well as any other information on the game, we’ll report it to you.
