As Nintendo continues to increase their marketing game for the Nintendo Switch, unlike their efforts for Wii U, we keep getting more commercials and trailers. Many times, they even advertise games that have been out for a while. This week, we got one for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, which many would argue doesn’t need any marketing help.
On the surface, it seems like a great commercial with kids having a blast fighting each other within the game. Check it out.
Wait, did you catch the very beginning of the video? You know the part where the kid grabs his Joy-Con controller before he sits down to play against the “new challenger,” Inkling? Let’s pause it and show you what we’re talking about.
I don’t know about you, but that menu screen looks a bit different than the one currently on my copy of the game. I can’t quite put my finger on it, but something is definitely different… Oh, wait, there it is!
While it’s a bit blurry, this obviously says Stage Builder and includes a similar icon from the same mode in previous games.
How did Nintendo let this slip out? Did they purposely leak that Stage Builder is coming in a future update? What does this mean for other modes we haven’t seen yet, like Break the Targets or Home Run Contest? We have so many questions!
Let us know what you think about this “leak” in the comments below. Is the addition of Stage Builder a good move, in your opinion? And also let us know what kind of stages you plan on building once this update is live.
