The infamous March 31st is one week away which means several Mario games and more (including a Disney game) will be removed from existence.
Super Mario 3D All-Stars ($59.99): A collection of Super Mario 64, Super Mario Sunshine, and Super Mario Galaxy in celebration of Super Mario Bros. 35th anniversary. A physical is also available.
Super Mario Bros. 35 (Free): An online 35-player battle royale based on the original SMB from the developers of Tetris 99. Requires Nintendo Switch Online subscription and is digital-only. This is also part of Mario’s 35th anniversary. It is unknown if it will be playable after delisting. Make sure you play a lot of it in the meantime.
Super Mario Maker ($59.99): The game that started it all will be delisted from the Wii U eshop after March 31; however, physical is still available. The ability to upload courses and the Super Mario Maker Bookmark website will be terminated. Due to this, the following features within the software’s Course World will also become unavailable: Updating the ranking of liked courses and looking up your bookmarked courses.
Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon & the Blade of Light ($5.99): This is the original Fire Emblem that released in 1990, exclusively in Japan for the Famicom (NES). It finally arrived west last year for the series’ 30th anniversary, but only until March 31st. It is digital only.
Disney’s Art Academy ($29.99): This is a Disney-themed Art Academy that released for 3DS in 2016 and will be delisted on March 30th. Since it has been 5 years since release, it is possible that the Disney licensing deal ran out. At the moment, this delisting announcement was only for Japan and Europe; however, it most likely affects North America as well.
That’s it for the eshop; however, the Game & Watch: Super Mario Bros. device will be discontinued and Netflix will be removing the old Super Mario Bros. 3 cartoons.
Dave’s first Nintendo platform was the GameCube when he was age 7; however, he was introduced to Nintendo through Duck Hunt on NES.
