After the completion of the Splatoon 2 Invitational 2019, Nintendo announced Splatocalypse, the final Splatfest, will begin on July 18, 2019, at 5:00am Pacific Time. Coinciding with the second anniversary of Splatoon 2, this 72-hour event will include all 23 of the previous stages for the first two days and a new stage called Shifty Station the final day. Of course, you can also find some “special in-game gear” throughout the Splatfest.
This final Splatfest centers around the type of world you would prefer: chaos or order.
Nintendo also stated, “Sometime after the Splatocalypse is over in late July, an update for the Splatoon 2 game will add Turf War (Splatfest) to the modes players with a Nintendo Switch Online membership can select in Private Battle. With this new mode, players will get to enjoy Turf War on 24 stages at nighttime, including the newest Shifty Station playable in the final Splatfest.”
You don’t have to wait until July, though, because there is another Splatoon 2 Splatfest starting on June 14, where you can choose between unicorns and narwhals.
Will you participate in Splatocalypse? Will you miss Splatfests? Should they, in fact, come to a close? What do you think of the new modes and stages coming out? Let us know your thoughts in the comments down below.
