After months of rumors and being rated in South Korea, Rockstar has finally confirmed the existence of a fully-remastered collection of three fan favorite PS2 games coming to everything (including Switch).
The Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition will contain 2001’s GTA III, 2002’s Vice City, and 2004’s San Andreas. For the first time ever, these games will make their way to a Nintendo platform.
GTA III turns 20 years old this year and is considered to be the grandfather of modern open-world games. Rockstar says the collection will contain “across-the-board upgrades including graphical improvements and modern gameplay enhancements for all three titles, while still maintaining the classic look and feel of the originals”.
There is no definitive release date yet, but Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition is scheduled to release on Switch and other platforms “later this year”.
Dave’s first Nintendo platform was the GameCube when he was age 7; however, he was introduced to Nintendo through Duck Hunt on NES.
